Waves Never Die

We want what we want when we want, and that’s one of the purest impulses that humans will ever experience. Emphasis is impressed upon the points that bigger is best and quicker is right, and anything outside of these ideals is a worthless and meaningless pursuit.

But I’m a believer that true growth takes time. I believe in the power of patience because I see that Time sides with what’s planted and pruned with pure intentions. It’s easy to fall from overwhelming commitments, so shouldn’t that be proof that less can truly be more? It’s not about how much you do in a given timeframe but how aptly you experiment in what you do in that timeframe, because only after insightful experimentation will the truths, lessons, and next steps appear.

It’s a partnership.

I believe that when we put all we can into each moment, Time will carry out the rest. There is no slowing it down or speeding it up, so intertwine as many memories and meanings so as Time works, motifs become melodies and melodies become legacies.

I stress myself wondering how I’ll be able to make the most of my writing career until I remember that this career is built one word at a time. There is no such thing as a perfect blog post, a perfect metaphor, or a perfect rhyme. I have no power over who reads my work or how it’s taken and perceived, and I have no way to predict the impact it will or will not have as my life continues to unfold. All I can do as a writer is extend an offering out into the world of my true and good intentions, and watch as whatever meaning arises from that. I see now I just need to live and craft and the rest will come and be as Time wills fit and appropriate.

We are tidally locked with Time, so there is no use in expecting a full harvest season immediately after the first crescent appears. Move with the beat of its drum, not to the beat of your desire. Confront reality as it is and fill out its space with waves of creation for waves never die but resurge in sync with the heart of the moment.

Desire is the body’s reason, Narrative is the mind’s life line, and Time is the spirit’s metronome. We control how we conduct ourselves within each relationship, but the exact details and destination of the journey will forever be outside the realm of our direct manipulation. Adapt to new times and surroundings, use logic and critique to discern mental aptitude, and remain present in reality.

Add pressure, increase the power, do everything possible to stir up as much as possible, and look as life begins again.

Isn’t it beautiful? Don’t take your foot off the gas for life stops when the pulse lineates. It’ll be crazy, unmanageable, and chaotic at the least in the beginning, but let it go and watch as it all begins to flow together as a harmonic unit.
